Wishing all our readers a very happy 2012. May we ever be  under the guidance and blessings of Guruji Amma and Guruji

1. The Divine Message - Message From Poojyashree Shree Amma - The Ultimate Liberator Bestowed By Lord Shri Krishna!
RadheKrishna.
Think through each of the things that you have been doing. Well in this modern era, you can think how we should conduct and perform things. Well there is no need to think and if we start to chant then everything will begin to manifest automatically and you will understand them. Just to take care of us, we need some education. If this education is present then we can earn a living and there is no harm in that. But beyond that is education providing anything at all for us to live in peace? All these mind development things are mere rubbish and let us chant as dictated by Amma to enjoy a blissful life.

2. Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month

India is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondage.

RadheKrishna! Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many advantages in listening to baktha charithram.

Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country. Our beloved Guruji has a special reverence for Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and in the coming issues, we will enjoy his bhakthi and the path of devoution that he had set an example for us to follow.

Everybody was happy that Nimayee the pandit is now fully into devoution and this should happen to all pandits. Generally those who are true devoutees will not have the urge to become pandits. It is very difficult for bhakthi and learning to coincide and this is what happened in Nimayee's case. When Nimayee returns home he calls mother and faints thinking that his mother is capable of bearing Krishna (which is the case as well). He wakes up and looks at his wife Vishnupriya and faints again. It is very rare to be devouted to Krishna and even in that devoution as a Gopi is considered to be the rarest of everything.

When his mother inquires about his health, Nimayee explains that everything will be fine if he gets a vision of Krishna. His mother was puzzled as his child Nimayee has never longed for everything. After a while Nimayee composes himself and returns back to normalcy and this is very difficult. This can be observed in Bagawath as well when Parikshit asks a questions, sage Sukha draws himself to the normal plane and tries to answer his questions. At one instance, the kings asks that rasakreeda does not look proper as the Lord is playing with other men's wives. Sage Sukha had to withdraw from samadhi and then answers Parikshit's question.

You can find considerable difference in the behaviour of a person who is engrossed in devoution. When Nimayee returns back to normal his friends ask him to explain how is voyage to Gaya has been. Nimayee explains that he forgot everything and only longed for the Lord after seeing His lotus feet in Gaya. Nimayee faints again thinking about the lotus feet of the Lord and he himself does not know when he would enter such states

Leela continues..

RadheKrishna.Hinduism is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can understand and use it practically. In the coming months we will enjoy the 12th Chapter of Gita and the devoution towards the Lord as explained by our  beloved Guruji.

There were many devotees even in this Kaliyuga like Meera, Janabhai, Tukaram who had completely devouted their mind to the Lord. Narayan Bhattar suffered from paralysis and this disease is such that it will not allow you to live or die in peace. In that state also the Naryana bhattar enjoyed the leelas or pastimes of the Lord and requested Him to get his disease rectified. The reason why diseases come to the devoutees is that it provides an opportunity for the ordinary mortals to sing and praise the songs they have composed and get cured of similar diseases that they could catch

Just to bear a child a women undergoes many hardships and bears all of them just for the child. Nobody can explain in any language what the woman will undergo in those 10 months. As with a lady who will bear all the pain and rear a child just for the benefit of the whole family, the devoutees as well will bear the pain and disease and show the ordinary mortals the way out of such sufferings. There are many devoutees who have given their minds to the Lord and lived with Him. For Jeyadeva, Krishna himself comes and starts Ashtapathi and this even goes beyond RasaKreeda. This level of composition is possible only Jeyadeva's mind had nothing but Krishna.

Just when Jeyadeva was feeling that he had made a mistake, the Lord took his form and wrote the verses in Ashtapathi. Hence if we totally surrender our mind to the Lord, we will live with Him and there cannot be any doubts in this.  This answers creates a doubt in Arjuna's mind and we will see what he has to ask and the Lord has to say in next episodes

RadheKrishna  RadheKrishna..
Perumal Thirumozhi was as a result of Kulasekara azhwar longing to see and enjoy Lord Ranganatha. The Thirumozhi also results from the bhakthi of the azhwar towards Rama and Krishna and he begins with his longing for Lord Ranganatha. Everyone of us have so much of longing for the worldly affairs but the longing and the love for the Lord alone will help us achieve a good state.
Kulasekara azhwar enjoys Lord Ranganatha as Adisheshan in the first two pasurams or songs. Then he enjoys the Lord as enjoyed by Brahma. But the way Gopis enjoyed the Lord is considered to be supreme. This is because the not so intelligent Gopis were fully aware of the strengths of the Lord and believed that Krishna would save them. Of all the avatars,  Krishna avatar is considered to be the best and one that can easily be enjoyed. This was followed by Kulasekara azhwar enjoying how Narada and Tumburu enjoy the Lord. He continues further and sees how the devotees are enjoying the Lord and what items are safeguarding the Lord. Then the azhwar decides to mingle with the devotees and experience how it would be to be part of that group and enjoy the Lord.

When Ramanuja returned to Srirangam, he was happy to realise that the Lord had become younger in those 12 years he had stayed away. He forgets that he himself is a renowned guru with a huge following and jumps in joy on seeing the Lord. Then Ramanuja begins to cry and when his followers asked him for the reason, he explained that he alone feels the separation of  Lord Ranganatha all these years. This is despite Ramanuja enjoying Ramapriyar in Melkottai but yet he longs for Lord Ranganatha.

The azhwar longs for that day when he can jostle among the devotees and enjoy the Lord. There is no jealously here but it is a desire of the azhwar to enjoy the Lord as enjoyed by other devotees. The azhwar also wishes that he would jump in joy and fall down as a result and roll over the feet of other devotees. He feels that being a king and sleeping in beautiful beds hurts him than giving him any comfort. He longs for that day when he can visit Srirangam and roll there as the place is filled with devotees and their footprints.

We will enjoy a new pasuram in the next issue

5. Samarpanam
parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham
dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge
Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paRamapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits. Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely 'Jnanadev'

  • The great soul was born in 1275 to  Vitthal Govind Kulkarni and Rukmini and was the elder brother of Muktha Bhai
  • The great devotee was initiated by his own brother Nivurttinath along with other siblings at the age of 8
  • The great author at the age of 15 wrote the commentary on Bagawath Gita at the request of his brother. This was called Bhavartha Deepika Teeka or otherwise popularly known as   Jnaneswari. He also wrote Amruthanabhav a literary work on Advaitha
  • The great devotee who offered his back as an oven for Mukta Bhai his sister to bake bread
  • The great saint who wrote 65 verses to the blank paper sent by Chang Dev and along with his other siblings travelled on a piece of wall to kill the pride of the sender. These 65 verses are called Changdev pasasthi
  • The great soul is credited with starting the Varkari movement (devoution towards Vittal)
  • The great saint at the age of 21 attained Jeeva samadhi in Alandhi in Maharastra in 1296
