2. Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month

India is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages.

RadheKrishna! Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many advantages in listening to baktha charithram.

Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country. Our beloved Guruji has a special reverence for Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and in the coming issues, we will enjoy his bhakthi and the path of devoution that he had set an example for us to follow.

There is no one who is a bigger devotee than Nimayee and in comparision everyone else is just a humble simple being. Nimayee is unable to even pronounce Krishna and drags Krrisshhnaa Krrissshnaaa. He said that he is going to reveal a great secret to the people. When he was going to Gaya , in the village of Namashala, he happened to hear the notes of flute being played. On hearing that he began to rush like a mad person calling the son of Nandagopa and in search of Krishna. Similar to what Kunthi had pronounced in her sloka, "Krishnaya vasudevaya, devani nandanayacha..", Nimayee rushes to meet Krishna, the saviour of everyone. He searches Krishna as he is only able to hear the flute and not see His form.

Thondaradipodi azhwar proclaims thus "If we are of any use to the world, then people will surround us and if we grow weak no one will notice us". He proceeds to say that other than the Lord, there is no one else to take care of him but the Lord. Money will not get us everything and even if we have money and lose our parents, the money will not bring it back. Similary the soul needs the Lord and its merger and this cannot be granted by the parents or siblings or grandparents. If this being the case then how are you expecting to give super joy to this soul via the worldly things? So why are we believing that the humans are capable of delivering joy and under what basis are we doing so? There is no one other than the Lord who can bring us unlimited happiness in this world.

Can humans give back life but Krishna was able to bring back Parikshit to life in the womb of Uthara. None of the pandavas, Kunthi or Draupadhi was able to bring Parikshit back to life and only Krishna was able to do so. When Bhisma was in his death bed, none of Arjuna, Duryodhana and his beloved kingdom Hasthinapuram was able to give him any joy until the point in time he was to able to recite Vishnu Sahasranama at the sight of Krishna. Without an iota of doubt , please bear this in mind that no one else other than Krishna will be able to take care of us and give us the required happiness.

RadheKrishna.Hinduism is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can understand and use it practically. In the coming months we will enjoy the 12th Chapter of Gita and the devoution towards the Lord as explained by our  beloved Guruji.

The Lord vowed that he will not take arms in the Kurushektra war but the devotee Bhisma proclaimed that he will ensure that the Lord will take up the arms in the battle. Bhishma was constantly of the thought that the Lord should take up arms and one day Krishna had to lift his chakra with the intention of killing Bhisma. We should meditate and practice with this intensity and then only it gets fulfilled. Similarly when Namadevar's father asked him to feed Panduranga, the child really thought the Lord will come and accept his food. Namadevar begins to cry to Panduranga to come in person and accept the food as he was feeling hungry too. The child begins to bang his head on the walls and at that instant the Lord came and accepted the food offered by Namadevar.

We must have the intensity of practice and the intense desire to be able to attain the Lord. We must constantly be with the thought of attaining Krishna while going about doing our daily chores. Similarly when the Lord disappeared, the Gopis sung the Gopika Geetham with intense desire of uniting with the Lord and the Lord manifested again among them.

Everybody can develop this practice of meditation but these days money takes the center stage. Even while doing yagnas, the first thing that comes to our minds is that how much does it cost to do this type of yagna? We go about finding out how much it costs to collect the materials, the rent for the place and hence even after doing the yagna we dont get the intended peace. If we decided to do yoga like then we suffer from troubles like wheezing and cannot even take a full breath

Perumal Thirumozhi was as a result of Kulasekara azhwar longing to see and enjoy Lord Ranganatha. The Thirumozhi also results from the bhakthi of the azhwar towards Rama and Krishna and he begins with his longing for Lord Ranganatha. Everyone of us have so much of longing for the worldly affairs but the longing and the love for the Lord alone will help us achieve a good state.

Kulasekara azhwar enjoys Lord Ranganatha as Adisheshan in the first two pasurams or songs. Then he enjoys the Lord as enjoyed by Brahma. But the way Gopis enjoyed the Lord is considered to be supreme. This is because the not so intelligent Gopis were fully aware of the strengths of the Lord and believed that Krishna would save them. Of all the avatars,  Krishna avatar is considered to be the best and one that can easily be enjoyed. This was followed by Kulasekara azhwar enjoying how Narada and Tumburu enjoy the Lord. He continues further and sees how the devotees are enjoying the Lord and what items are safeguarding the Lord. Then the azhwar decides to mingle with the devotees and experience how it would be to be part of that group and enjoy the Lord.

In other religions there is dearth of holy people but not in hinduism. The moment a great soul is going to depart, he or she will prepare one of his disciples to take on that role.If India can be put straight then the world itself will be self regulated. But even if everything else is there and India is not there then nobody will know the true meaning of culture or heritage or husband / wife  Only Hinduism can go beyond the physical relationship and prove that marriage is a union of two souls. There is no such word called divorce in hinduism and this can be verified from all texts starting from Manu's rule book. Even if a lady is not chaste, the husband has to take care of her till death although he may not live with her but there is no concept of a divorce.

People ridicule Hinduism as having puranas , Mahabharatha and many stories but the fact is the stories are nothing but truth. Hence Lord Ranganatha comes to Srirangam to meditate for the benefit of all beings in all planets. Today we are just using our brains to think if there is life on Mars etc. But the fact is there are souls on many planets and the Lord is taking care of their needs as well. In India there are so many states and cultures and even the food habits vary greatly. The same rice and wheat is being eaten differently and prepared differently not only in India but in other parts of the world and the Lord is ensuring that every second the food chain remains intact.

While we are asleep, the Lizard chases a cockroach and a cockroach will chase an ant and 24 hours there is always somewhere who is looking for food and eating it as well. Again while we are asleep some humans in other countries wake up and have milk and all these are being taken care of by the Lord. Not only this the Lord is also taking care of all those in the moon, the sun, the heaven , the abode of Shiva, Brahma and takes care of them as per their requirements for food and shelter. The Lord also needs to protect Indra from demons and at the same time control the ego of Indra and do many similar tasks as well.

The pasuram continues next month..
5. Samarpanam
parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham
dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge
Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paRamapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits. Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely 'Dwaraka Ramadasar'

  • The great brahmin who was lived in the  village of Dankor which was near to Dwaraka.
  • The great devotee who regularly went to Dwaraka and prayed to Krishna during the Ekadesi days
  • The great soul who requested Krishna to be with Him and the Lord came along from Dwaraka pulled by Ramadasar
  • The great devotee who hid Krishna in a well and proclaimed that he would give the weight of the Lord in gold should he were to keep him
  •  The great soul who equalled the weight of Krishna by a simple nose ring of his wife (similar to the incident that happened between Rukmini and Satyabhama)
Please check out Dhaasa Vedham to know about the pravachans and discourses being conducted by Guruji
