1. The Divine Message - Message From Poojyashree Shree Amma - The Ultimate Liberator Bestowed By Lord Shri Krishna!

In the present times only the servants dictate what the boss should do and so the behaviour of the Lord obeying the wishes of the devotees should be seen as a surprise! If you are looking for a servant who can obey your wishes then the Lord is your only find. In this world, there is no one who can come running to our call for help. There is no limit and He can oblige to whatever we can order and the Lord possess this amazing quality. All the devas could not bear the sight of the Lord being so obedient and started crying and even His consort was amazed at this. if we question whether the devoution of the azhwar was great or whether the Lord was great , it has to be concluded that both the azhwar and the Lord are equally great. The Lord also came back under the orders of the azhwar but did not lie down. The azhwar was asking about the Lord's behaviour and He said that the azhwar only asked Him to return but not to lie down. So the azhwar ordered the Lord to lie down as well. As how Viswamitra requested Rama to lie down the Lord began to recline and rest on the orders of the Azhwar. Let us all chant and enjoy our magnificent Krishna, our Lord of the universe.

2. Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month

India is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages.
RadheKrishna! Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many advantages in listening to baktha charithram.
Bharath is a very special land and contained within it are sacred places and rivers. Devotees born in this sacred Bharath ensure that they propagate bhakti in all corners of the country. This is the precise reason why the fragrance of bhakti can be felt all around our country. Our beloved Guruji has a special reverence for Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and in the coming issues, we will enjoy his bhakthi and the path of devoution that he had set an example for us to follow.

Nimayee takes sand from the village and rubs on his head and tells his followers that this is the birth place of his guru Iswarapuri and he did exactly the same as what Akroorar did when he entered Brindavan. Nimayee proclaims that the feet dust of a guru is better than Ganga, Yamuna, all the temples and in fact better than the feet of the Lord Himself. The disciples get some sand and question Nimayee as to the way to find out the foot prints of Iswarapuri.

Nobody knew where Iswarapuri had gone but Nimayee says that this is the village where he had resided as an young lad and so all the grains of sand would have some association with him. He grabs some sand and places it on his eyes and stars to cry. Everybody will go and meet the guru to tell their problems and request the guru to find a solution. But Nimayee here establishes that the holiness of a guru's feet and lies down at the village for sometime praying for devoution towards Krishna.

In Mukundamala, Kulasekharazhwar says that he does not need anything in every birth but only not to forget the feet of Krishna. Everybody slowly consoles Nimayee and they enter Navdeep. Nimayee dances at times, cries at times and he does not even refuse to argue with people whom he was used to starting arguments. He does not say anything but Krishna.

RadheKrishna.Hinduism is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can understand and use it practically. In the coming months we will enjoy the 12th Chapter of Gita and the devoution towards the Lord as explained by our  beloved Guruji.

Akroora though was the minister of Kamsa had only filled his mind with Krishna. Although Kamsa was the worst sinner, he was always thinking of Krishna and that is why he died with Krishna being by his side. We dont know why people die and it is a natural phenomenon that the Lord has placed on us. Nobody know the cause of death but Kamsa was fortunate that he died at the hands of Krishna. Similarly Sisubala mingled with Krishna after his death because he was full of hatred for Krishna but he never could forget Krishna

People question his final state and ask how this sinner managed to merge with Krishna after death.Sage Naradha explains this as dwesha bhakthi or a kind of hatred devoution. There are many kinds of devotion like devoution out of love, fear and what Sisubala did was to look up Lord as his enemy! It is only natural that we never forget our enemies. We may overlook our friends but never our enemies. Numerous asuras like Akasura, Bhakasura, Poothana attained moksha because they were always immersed in thought of Krishna and to kill Him.

If all these demons attained Krishna due to hatred for Krishna, has it to be explicitly stated that if we dearly love the Lord we will surely attain liberation in life.

Perumal Thirumozhi was as a result of Kulasekara azhwar longing to see and enjoy Lord Ranganatha. The Thirumozhi also results from the bhakthi of the azhwar towards Rama and Krishna and he begins with his longing for Lord Ranganatha. Everyone of us have so much of longing for the worldly affairs but the longing and the love for the Lord alone will help us achieve a good state.

Kulasekara azhwar enjoys Lord Ranganatha as Adisheshan in the first two pasurams or songs. Then he enjoys the Lord as enjoyed by Brahma. But the way Gopis enjoyed the Lord is considered to be supreme. This is because the not so intelligent Gopis were fully aware of the strengths of the Lord and believed that Krishna would save them. Of all the avatars,  Krishna avatar is considered to be the best and one that can easily be enjoyed. This was followed by Kulasekara azhwar enjoying how Narada and Tumburu enjoy the Lord. He continues further and sees how the devotees are enjoying the Lord and what items are safeguarding the Lord. Then the azhwar decides to mingle with the devotees and experience how it would be to be part of that group and enjoy the Lord .

When we are eager to meet the Lord and the moment we meet Him we will know what to do but to Jump and fall at his feet. The azhwar longs for that when at the sight of Ranganatha and out of sheer joy and unable to stand would sit down. Even sitting would be difficult and we should roll and roll and enjoy the bliss. This is how Akroora was rushing to Brindavan to meet Krishna and he was sure that the Lord will accept Him though he was the minister of Kamsa.

As soon as he reaches Brindavan, he notices the foot prints of the Lord. Those who visit Brindavan will never forget to bring back the sand as they carry Krishna's foot prints. Akroora begins to roll and cry and just by the foot prints itself if he gets excited imagine his state when he actually meets Krishna. Swami Periyavaachan pillai has provided a detailed explanation on this last line of the pasuram. Kulasekara azhwar being a majestic king, has to follow strict etiquette when he sits and sleeps. The king feels relieved of all these when he wants to visit Srirangam and without any rules he can simply roll and roll and enjoy the Lord.

Howmuch ever we study, we still will do pranks with our grand parents and hug our parents. If we just sit thinking that we are so learned and shy away, there will be no joy in life.

The pasuram will conclude next month..

Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paRamapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits. Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely 'HaathiRam Babaji'

  • The great soul who was born in Northern India , visited Tirumala and was stayed there ever since as he was spellbound by the beauty of Lord Venkateswara
  • The great devotee with whom Lord Balaji used to play dice games with him every evening
  • The great soul for whom the Lord himself came as an elephant (Haathi) and consumed tons of sugarcane proving his innonce
  • The great guru who was appointed as the chief priest of Tirumala by Krishnadevaraya and served there for many years
  • The great soul who attained Jeeva Samathi in Tirumala near VenuGopala Swami temple
Please check out Dhaasa Vedham to know about the pravachans and discourses being conducted by Guruji

Weekly bhajans are held in Chennai, Podanur, Mumbai, USA and East Africa with Guruji Amma's abundant blessings.

1. The Divine Message - Message From Poojyashree Shree Amma - The Ultimate Liberator Bestowed By Lord Shri Krishna!
In may occasions, the Lord is behaving like that of a servant to many of his devotees. Kulasekara azhwar in his mukunta mala also says that he wishes to be a servant of the Lord's devotees. Just imagine for the sake of Pandavas and to fulfill their wishes, the Lord took the form of a messenger and went to the Kauravas. It is very true that the Lord never behaves like the king of all the worlds and is only considering himself as a servant and behaves that way as well. If he begins to dicate things, the way he can, then we will not be able to enter or even go near his temples. Just because of his nature and not considering Himself as the Lord alone we are able to establish a closeness with the Lord and let there not be any doubt about this. Even Lord Ranganatha went as a messenger on behalf of Thondaradipodi Azhwar. When Thirumazhesai azhwar ordered the Lord to fold his bed (Adishesha) and follow him and Kanikannan, the Lord immediately obliged and started following them.

We should shed our inhibitions and do chanting and the more we chant the more we will be engulfed by devoution. Nimayee wakes up, moves around and is always in a state of trance. His life was moving on like this. One day while he was travelling through a village, he heard the sound of flute being played. He started rushing crying that Krishna is calling him and at one point he loses himself and faints. When he recovers, the people around were concerned and hence they did not ask anything. if Nimayee sees a mount, he will rush crying Govardana Giri. If he sees a puddle, he will rush crying Yamuna river and this is the peak of devoution where one forgets himself.

The disciples of Nimayee then only realised how Gopis would have felt for Krishna. The Gopis gave everything including their mind to Krishna and were always thinking about the Lord. Nimayee wonders whether the Lord's feet would have got hurt due to dancing on Kalinga the snake and feels for Krishna. Nimayee even when answering for ordinary things recalls Krishna, Govinda, Madhava and Radhe. As he was moving around, he comes across a village called Kumarghat and faints. The reason for this is because this is the village where his guru Iswarapuri was born.

Draupathi was somewhere in a court but the moment she sought Krishna's help, He came rushing to help her. The Lord stress that we should surrender our minds only to Him. If Yasoda enjoyed Krishna Leela from morning to evening means she must her undertaken such a hard penance to enjoy Krishna. We must live with Krishna and we must live only for Krishna and we must live only for His desires. The Lord wishes us to live in a certain way because he want all His souls to be happy. Even the residents of Vaikunda like Adisesha came down as Ramanuja because they also want the earthly souls to enjoy infinite bliss.

We should not be pretend to be happy but be really be happy and this will happen only when we totally surrender to the Lord. This is what means by being the property of the Lord and to live according to His desires. Let there not be even an iota of doubt about this. Akroora though living with Kamsa was longing for Krishna to return to his birthplace Mathura. Kamsa realised that all the asuras who were sent to kill Krishna can neither kill Him nor bring Him back and only Akroora will be able to do so. This is because Kamsa realised that in the mind of Akroora there is nothing else but Krishna.

The azhwar says we should jump at the sight of Lord Ranganatha who is holding a chakra which can kill all our karmas and sins. If we have such a desire to enjoy the Lord then the body will automatically jump at the sight of the Lord. Even Lord Chaitanya jumped at the sight of Raganatha and exclaimed that Krishna was only lying in this pose although everybody contested that it was Sriman Narayana. Similarly Thirupaanazhwar was longing for Ranganatha and when Logasarangamunivar was carrying him to the temple, he jumped at the sight of Lord Ranganatha and merged with Him.

Similarly Aandal was also rushing towards the temple and the moment she saw Ranganatha, she clasped His feet and merged with Him. All devoutees including Tuluka Nachiyar take a leap at His sight. If you really look at Ranganatha, He is an age old person but still people are very much attracted towards Him! He came to earth during Ramanaya days and before that He was lying in Brahmalokha for countless years. He is called Periya Perumal (Big Lord) because he was worshipped by Brahma, Rama, Krishna, Azhwars and countless devoutees. The Lord is lying so magnificently that nobody ever notices that he is an age old Lord

There will not be any relation to the position of the person who is enjoying his/her time with a child. Even when communicating with the child, we have to come down to the level of the child and ask whether the child had food or is suffering from any discomfort. We come down to the level of the child but the Lord goes further and comes down further than us to shower his grace. This is very true and for devotees the Lord can easily be obtained. Even poet Bharathi says that Krishna is his servant and came down to serve him from somewhere. Bharathi says that the Lord is not of the highest caste or of the lowest cast and is from the middle caste. He questions himself as to what he did in his life to attain Him. Even Thirupanazhwar says that the Lord cut his karma and placed next to him. Then He entered into the azhwar and the azhwar also questions himself as to what he did to attain Him. The azhwar is amazed that despite his lack of any penance that Lord took mercy on him. The same view is being echoed by other great devotees as well.

Ishwaripuri had transferred his devoution towards Krishna to Nimayee. After this the playful Nimayee begins to wander with a craze for devoution towards Krishna. Just as how Swami Periazhwar said as soon as Krishna entered his body, he got a transformation of life. Krishna is the sole guru for this whole world. He first came as BadriNarayana and initiated Nara Narayana and then later as Krishna to initiate Arjuna through Gita. There is a distinction between the heart that beats as defined by science and the heart that is referred to in Hindu spiritual texts. It is in this spiritual heart lies the source of eternal happiness.

This lotus heart has to bloom to be able to enjoy the nectar like a bee and the guru enters this heart. Most of our hearts are like rubbish bins and the only difference is that the garbage is visible and the bin in our hearts are kept hidden! Only a guru with real strength can enter in to this heart of garbage. The guru for all his disciples has to enter their hearts and do the cleaning job. Again different hearts provide different levels of impurity and has to be cleaned. Just as how Hauman defied all odds and went to Lanka to meet Sita to deliver the message of Rama, the guru with great difficulty enters into our hearts to establish the presence of the Lord!

Vithura was a fortunate soul in that Krishna Himself remember him when He departed this world. Vithura cries to Uddhava that he is unable to bear the mercy of the Lord and there was no need for Him to recollect him on his departure. The reason for this is Vithura always lived as how the Lord had wished him to lead his life. Similarly Rama cries for Jadayu when the bird was hit and was on the death bed. Just imagine how much of devoution that Jadayu should have done. Rama could not even do the last rites for his father Dasaratha and the king was not as fortunate. But Rama did the last rites for Jadayu and this proves the devoution of the bird king.

We should always be thinking of the Lord. Once all the pandavas were having a chat and at one point Arjuna asks Krishna as to what he said was correct. Krishna does not respond and Arjuna asks him what happened. Krishna responds that his mind was not present here and was thinking about the fading lamp Bhisma who is waiting for uthrayana to come and give up his body. This is the strength of Bhisma's devoution and despite every one including Kunthi, Draupathi and others being present, Krishna was thinking about Bhisma. The Lord asserts in Gita that if we give up our minds to Him, we will surely live with Him.

In Srirangam all 365 days in a year there will be some festival or the other being celebrated and the sounds of the celebration will always echo around. Even staunch Vaishnavites will not be able to distinguish the festivals and determine the nature and the cause of the festivals. All 365 days in a year there is celebration in Srirangam and all festivals are of equal importance.

If we hang around in small living place in Srirangam and eat the offerings given to the Lord, we will surely attain mukthi or liberation. We can lead such a peaceful life in one corner in Srirangam and there is nobody to question and nobody to answer to and just us and the Lord. The sounds of celebration always are present in Srirangam and if you notice the players of those musical instruments, they will have a special ego on the account of being closer to Ranganatha. This is a different kind of ego and is not the same as seen in normal human beings.

The pasuram continues next month..

5. Samarpanam
parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham
dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge
This issue we are dedicating to one of the great eternal devotees of the Lord namely 'Vittalnathji'

  • The great soul was the younger son of Shri Vallabacharya and was born in 1516 and is considered to be an incarnation of Vittal Himself
  • The great devotee established the devoutional practices in the temple of Shrinathji which is followed even today. The instructions were conveyed by Shrinathiji Himself
  • The great soul was a poet, a musician and an artist and was honoured by Akbar for his devoution
  • The great father had six sons and four daughters from Rukmini whom he married in 1533
  • The great guru who transformed numerous people and initiated even muslims into the path of devoution towards Krishna
  • The great incarnation of Krishna shed his body in the year 1586 and by then had built a huge devoutional following with 252 of his followers
